Saying ‘adios’ to the worm at the Tequila & Mezcal Fest 2014
A ray of bright sunshine and Mexican warmth bathed London recently with the launch of the brand new Tequila & Mezcal Fest 2014.
We were approached by Eduardo Gomez himself, founder of the all new Tequila & Mezcal Fest in London, to support the event and provide a welcome respite from the heat of Mexico with our ice cold sculptures and drinks luges!
Visitors to the event itself were encouraged to exchange their British Pounds for Mexican Pesos to really get in to the ‘spirit’ of the event, which included traditional Mexican music and dancing, restaurants, art, photography, tasting experiences and tequila and mezcal seminars and workshops.
We carved a collection of spectacular sculptures featuring a huge agave plant, which created a show stopping centrepiece in the main exhibition area, as well as an eye-catching display of agave plant bulbs (which look like pineapples – intentionally!). For those of you who are new to the happy world of Tequila and Mezcal, the drink itself is made from the agave plant.
We also designed a very popular female torso drinks luge, which was a huge hit with the attendees at the event and you can see all the photos on our facebook page. We wondered why some of the photos were slightly blurred in places, but we think it was due to the abundance of tasting opportunities. Visitors also had the chance to see our new Winter Set Pieces and a Bar Chipping Block in action on our stand.
And as for the worm, we were reliably informed that it was a marketing gimmick and not to be trusted! We wish we had known that during our university days.
Don’t miss out next year it’s an amazing event and a permanent fixture in our calendar now – stay in touch for details about the 2015 festival at www.tequilafest.co.uk
